PORTLAND DIVISON
Rose City J.A.M. –
Justice, Advocacy & Mentorship
Rose City J.A.M. is a flagship youth engagement and violence prevention program under OJN, led by Christopher Lambert (Regional Service Director) and Eddie Bynum Jr. (Operations Manager, also known as Mikey Vegaz of Trap Kitchen PDX). This program exists to respond to rising community violence, incarceration, and trauma—especially among Black and Brown youth in Portland.
Christopher and Eddie bring lived experience, local knowledge, and deep-rooted commitment to the work. They’ve turned pain into purpose—guiding youth through real talk, mentorship, healing circles, and leadership building. Rose City J.A.M. is not just a program—it’s a pathway to growth, stability, and legacy.

a safe space for the youth
More than recreation, Night Sports is a strategy—keeping youth off the streets and building connections that save lives. It’s earned trust citywide, becoming a critical tool for violence prevention and community building.
Night Sports is a late-night event series providing a safe, fun, and empowering space for youth. It includes basketball, music, dance, free food, barbers, mentors, and mental health resources—all operating during the high-risk hours of 6:30–10:30 p.m.
